Tools for Advancing the Common Good

United Way recruits and connects individuals and organizations from all across our community who bring the passion, expertise and resources together that build a stronger, safer, healthier community right here in Seneca County. We mobilize community resources to create long-term social change. We invite you to be a part of the change.

This resource area was designed as a resource for our partners to help us share information and resources because we believe that we are stronger together than any of us could be on our own.

COMMUNITY PROFILE

The 2007 Seneca County Community Profile was compiled by the Center for Governmental Research located in Rochester, NY, and is meant to inform and guide community strategic planning. The purposes of the profile are to:

  • Provide an unbiased assessment of how the county is doing in desired outcomes
  • Educate and inform government, educational, nonprofit and business leaders
  • Act as a tool for planning and catalyst for setting priorities
  • Serve as a springboard for deeper inquiry about underlying causes
  • Motivate change

The study was initiated by the Seneca County Partners for Children, Youth and Families Collaboration for Community Change (SCPFCYF-CCC), which is a local network of people committed to providing a high quality of life for the children of our communities by coordinating existing services and improving their delivery for children and families throughout our county. The local partners include businesses, schools, United Way, community organizations, law enforcement, county agencies, faith partners, parents and youth as active participants.
